On January 13, 2020, Yanjian Group received the letter of acceptance for the China Aid Tajikistan Parliament Building Project from Agency for International Economic and Cooperation of Ministry of Commerce. This project which is of great political significance, is the third largest foreign aid project of the Chinese government and the largest foreign aid project ever undertaken by Yanjian Group.

Both Chinese and Tajik governments attach great importance to this project. In October 2018, Premier Li Keqiang and President of Tajikistan Rakhmon were present at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the project; on June 15, 2019. President Xi Jinping and his counterpart Rakhmon attended the model unveiling ceremony of the project.

The project is located on the east side of Somoni Square in the center of Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, right opposite the existing presidential palace on the west side of the Square. It will be utilized as the national parliament’s workplace of Tajikistan after completion and its total building area is about 43,000㎡.

The project is a five-storey main building whose height (measured from the highest point of the dome structure to the outdoor ground at the main entrance) is 74.94m, belonging to the class 1 high-rise building. The designed service life of the building is 100 years and its structure is reinforced concrete frame with a seismic precautionary intensity of 9 degrees. The main building mainly includes a 1500-seat conference hall for joint session, a conference hall of the upper house, a conference hall of the lower house, a round-table conference hall, working rooms for the speaker, the deputy speaker and other members working in the permanent offices of the parliament and it also includes the presidential exclusive rooms, garages, equipment rooms, landscaping, office furniture, etc.

In preparation for Tajikistan’s 30th anniversary of National Day, the project is scheduled to commence on March 15, 2020 and be completed on March 15, 2023, with a total construction period of 36 months during which the facade decoration construction should be completed before August 31, 2021.

The management enterprise of this project is a consortium of Beijing Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd and Shenyang Engineering Supervision and Consulting Co., Ltd. The consortium consisting of 11 people will conduct the project management on site.

It is of milestone significance that winning the bid of this project promotes Yanjian Group to seize the strategic opportunity of the" Belt and Road", deepen its efforts in Tajikistan and expand and strengthen development and influence in the central Asian market.
